When I joined Fraser more than 30 years ago, we couldn’t even make payroll. We were like a little rowboat taking in water really quickly. I knew if we didn’t figure out how to fix it, we were going to sink. But failure is not in my vocabulary. I kept telling everybody, “We have to talk about the future.” I needed the staff and clients to understand that they owned the vision for this organization. The organization was doing great things. It just wasn’t doing enough of it to meet the vast community need. Now, more than 30 years later, Fraser is the largest and most experienced provider of autism and mental health services in Minnesota by providing a lifetime of specialty healthcare, housing, education and community supports services. We have grown from a $1 million operation serving 200 clients annually to a nationally renowned multi-service organization with a budget close to $100 million and a staff of 1,500+ serving 13,000+ clients statewide each year. But there is more to do. My vision for the organization is focused, warm, caring, kind, and innovative.
