Derek began his career practicing corporate law in the Menlo Park office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP where he drafted and negotiated complex financing and acquisition agreements for both public and private companies. As a corporate attorney, Derek advised and negotiated on behalf of numerous public and private emerging growth clients relating to entity formation, real property lease documentation, venture capital and debt financings, and strategic acquisitions.
