Derek Hernandez joined CBRE in 2016 as Vice President with the company’s CBRE Wholesale Lending Practice, a division of the company’s Capital Markets platform. In this role, Mr. Hernandez is responsible for developing and managing accounts in the Western United States, with a focus on small balance lending.
Mr. Hernandez brings over 9 years of experience in banking. He comes to CBRE from JPMorgan Chase, where he spent the past four years as a loan consultant specializing in commercial and multifamily lending. During this time he and his team closed over $1 billion in commercial and multifamily transactions. He was responsible for originating loans up to $50 million, and analyzed and inspected more than 200 properties annually.
Prior to working at Chase, Derek was a commercial loan officer and top loan originator at Provident Bank and San Diego Private Bank (formerly Embarcadero Bank). He is an alumnus of San Diego State University with a degree in business administration.
