Bruce Flatt is a Canadian businessman and the Chief Executive Officer of Brookfield Asset Management. He was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Manitoba in 1985. Flatt joined Brascan in 1990 and became CEO of Brookfield Asset Management in 2002. Under his leadership, Brookfield has developed a global operating presence in more than 30 countries and is now a $600 billion alternative manager with real estate, infrastructure, and private equity operations.
