Brian Butler joined Newmark in 2016 as a Senior Managing Director in the firm’s Boston office. With 25 years of experience in commercial real estate finance, he focuses primarily on originating debt and equity placement transactions throughout New England.
Prior to Newmark, Mr. Butler served as the finance director for Corcoran Jennison Companies, where his main responsibilities included reporting to ownership and providing strategic guidance and leadership, as well as analyzing, directing and overseeing the financing of a large and complex portfolio of properties that exceeded $2 billion in value and included 22 multihousing properties and 5,600 units; four hotels; office buildings; and developable land. Day-to-day responsibilities included financing, financial analysis, business plan writing and presentations, loan modifications and restructures. He worked closely with lending institutions such as the GSEs (Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae/FHA), life insurance companies, pension funds, and national, regional and local banks.
