Alan graduated from Loyola University Chicago with his degree in Chemistry and American Literature. After graduating in 1979 Alan moved to Los Angeles and started working for Bob Crane & Assoc. in Hollywood. After many years of working in a noncooperative environment, Alan started his own company of cooperation and collaboration known as DBL Realtors. The company grew substantially from 4 agents to 800 agents in nine offices and in 2004 was approached and purchased by Sotheby’s International Realty.
Alan was President of the Beverly Hills/ Greater Los Angeles Board of Realtors and last year received a Lifetime Achievement Award from 11,000 of his peers. he ran Sotheby’s for three years as President of Southern California and then decided to retire and move to Park City, Utah. After a year in Park City, he decided to open another real estate office out of a 100-year-old mine structure. 5 years later he sold that office to Windermere Realty and retired for a second time.
