Jamestown's completion of 619 Ponce marks a milestone in the second phase of the Ponce City Market adaptive reuse project. This development follows Jamestown's acquisition of the former Sears location in 2011, leading to the establishment of the 3 million-square-foot community hub in 2015.
The project's second phase includes Scout Living and Signal House, focusing on multifamily projects. Signal House, currently leasing, offers luxury apartments, while Scout Living, a hospitality-inspired community, is set to open later this year.
619 Ponce stands out as Atlanta's first office building constructed entirely from locally sourced mass timber, harvested from Jamestown-owned forests near Columbus, Ga. The construction, undertaken by JE Dunn and StructureCraft, aligns with Jamestown's commitment to sustainability, targeting net-zero carbon emissions and seeking LEED and Fitwel certifications.
Sage, a British software giant, leased 57,000 square feet at 619 Ponce, relocating its North American headquarters. Pottery Barn occupies 18,000 square feet on the ground floor, providing product design and installation services. CommercialEdge data indicates 27,000 square feet of retail space within the building, with CBRE handling leasing.
619 Ponce's strategic location adjacent to Ponce City Market, facing the Atlanta BeltLine, reflects Atlanta's evolving tech landscape. The city ranks among those experiencing a tech boom, evident in its significant office space construction and declining vacancy rates, signaling a growing market for commercial real estate.
