Utah-based Phaze, a platform that gives people and AI agents remote access to powerful computers, raised $8.75 million in a seed funding round led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Indie, NextView Ventures, Lerer Hippeau and Makers Fund. Founded by Benjy Boxer and Chris Dickson, Phaze provides high-performance remote desktops for employees working in demanding fields such as 3D, design and software development, making remote workstations feel like local machines.
FUN FACT: Benjy and Chris previously built Parsec, the high-performance remote access company Unity acquired in 2021, and a16z backed them there too. Phaze’s name comes from Piers Anthony’s Apprentice Adept novels, whose hero lives in two worlds at once: Proton and Phaze.
