OpenAI Acquires Pierre Computer Company To Enhance AI Coding Workflow

OpenAI will acquire Pierre Computer Company, Inc., the company behind Code Storage and open-source developer tools Trees, Diffs and Highlights, to strengthen Git workflows for developers and AI coding agents. The deal aims to integrate Pierre’s technology into Codex, improving code navigation, review and source control as more software development shifts to AI agents. Pierre’s open-source projects will remain open-source, and existing Code Storage customers can continue using the service.
