@anduril is committing $3.7B to build a new 2M SF shipyard at Sparrows Point, Maryland, bringing large-scale defense manufacturing back to a historic American industrial site.
The new Arsenal-2 facility is expected to add production capacity for the U.S. Navy’s Virginia-class submarine program while supporting Anduril’s broader autonomous defense systems and software platform.
The project is expected to create 3,100+ permanent jobs, support more than 14,000 jobs directly and indirectly, and generate more than $2B in annual economic output. Public incentives could match up to 13% of the investment.
The project represents Maryland’s largest single private investment in more than a decade and connects an old shipbuilding center with a new generation of U.S. defense manufacturing.
