Ahmed Shafik Purchases Property From VennPoint Real Estate
Venn, a Toronto-based business banking and expense management startup, raised $15M in Series A funding led by Left Lane Capital, with participation from XYZ Venture Capital, Intact Ventures, and Gradient. Co-CEO Ahmed Shafik, a former Revolut executive, sees Canada as lagging behind the U.S. in banking and spend software innovation. Originally focused on international transfers and multi-currency accounts, Venn now serves 4,000 SMBs with corporate cards, expense automation, and accounting integrations. The company plans to expand into credit card payment acceptance and lending.
