Jim Rock joined Avison Young’s Minneapolis office as a Principal in 2016 to expand the capital markets and retail presence in Minnesota, the Midwest and the rest of the U.S. Jim is a Capital Markets broker representing clients in the acquisition, disposition, and strategic planning of real estate. His emphasis ranges from corporate clients and institutional quality assets, to neighborhood strip centers, single tenant assets and disposition of excess property. Prior to joining Avison Young, Jim was an Executive Director at Cushman & Wakefield/Northmarq specializing in capital markets and retail transactions for nearly nine years. Jim spent four years at Colliers, after founding and operating his own commercial real estate company. Throughout his real estate career, Jim has represented a wide array of clients in sale, purchase, and lease transactions. His notable deals include a $1-billion automotive dealership portfolio owned by Chrysler Financial and Cerberus, as well as numerous shopping centers and single tenant investment properties. The Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal bestowed Jim with a Top Retail broker award.
