Chicago-based cook-to-order food delivery startup Sizl has raised $3.5 million in seed funding at a $12 million post-money valuation to expand its network of proprietary kitchens. Unlike traditional dark kitchens, Sizl operates its own locations staffed with Ukrainian and local chefs, offering fresh, made-to-order meals—primarily Eastern European cuisine—delivered in about 30 minutes. The company was founded by Alex Kolesnikov (CEO), Anastasia Kalinkina (COO), Nick Delitski, and Kyrylo Kupin (CMO), all originally from Ukraine, who previously built Local Kitchen. The round was led by Yellow Rocks! with backing from Kinetik and several angel investors. Funds will be used to open up to four new kitchens in Chicago and explore expansion into other U.S. cities.
