German drone startup Quantum Systems is on the verge of securing a €200 million ($232 million) funding round at a $3 billion valuation, months after becoming a unicorn. Led once again by Balderton Capital, which spearheaded its €160 million round earlier this year, the Munich-based company is experiencing revenue growth of over 100% annually and is targeting further funding and a potential 2026 IPO. Founded in 2015 by former German army officer Florian Seibel, Quantum Systems specializes in dual-use unmanned aerial vehicles for both defence and industrial applications, including surveillance drones supplied to Ukraine. With European defence spending surging, the company is emerging as a leading force in the continent’s drone and defence-tech sector.
