Flex, a fintech company offering all-in-one personal finance tools for business owners, has acquired a16z-backed Maza for $40M as part of a wave of fintech M&A activity. Maza, founded by Luciano Arango, Robbie Figueroa, and Siggy Bilstein, originally focused on helping Spanish-speaking consumers in the U.S. open bank accounts and obtain ITINs, but pivoted toward serving solopreneurs like landscapers and subcontractors. With 250,000 users and 290% YoY revenue growth, Maza’s traction caught the attention of Flex CEO Zaid Rahman, who saw alignment in their missions. Maza will rebrand as Flex Consumer, and its founders will join Flex in executive roles.
