Denver-based AI infrastructure startup Crusoe has raised $1.38 billion in a Series E round, valuing the company at $10 billion. Founded in 2018 by Chase Lochmiller and Cully Cavness, Crusoe began by turning wasted natural gas into energy for portable crypto data centres but has since pivoted to powering large-scale AI data centres sustainably. The funding, co-led by Valor Equity Partners and Mubadala Capital with support from Nvidia, Fidelity, and Founders Fund, positions Crusoe to expand projects like its 1.2GW Abilene campus for OpenAI and Oracle, while advancing its mission to integrate cleaner energy into the backbone of AI infrastructure.
