CopilotKit has raised $27 million in a Series A round led by Glilot Capital, NFX, and SignalFire to expand its platform for building app-native AI agents that go beyond chatbot-style interfaces. The startup, co-founded by Atai Barkai and Uli Barkai, is focused on enabling AI agents that live inside applications, understand user context, and take actions directly within product UIs instead of returning long text responses. Its open-source AG-UI protocol helps standardize how agents connect to front-end interfaces, supporting features like streaming interactions, tool calls, and dynamic UI generation such as interactive charts.
