Cartesia Secures $100 Million Investment From Kleiner Perkins Index Ventures Lightspeed And NVIDIA
Cartesia, a Silicon Valley-based AI voice technology company founded by Karan Goel, raised $100 million from top investors including Kleiner Perkins, Index Ventures, Lightspeed, and NVIDIA. Led by Goel and co-founder Albert Gu, Cartesia unveiled Sonic-3, a real-time text-to-speech model that delivers human-like conversations with laughter, emotional nuance, and just 190-millisecond end-to-end latency. Built on State Space Models (SSMs) instead of Transformers, Sonic-3 enables faster, more natural dialogue and supports 42 languages, positioning Cartesia as a frontrunner in the next generation of voice AI.

Palo Alto Networks Acquires AI Startup Console For $500 MillionConsole, a San Francisco-based AI startup, has been acquired by Palo Alto Networks for a reported $500 million, just two years after its founding. The company had raised $29 million across two funding rounds and was valued at $157 million in its latest round. Palo Alto Networks CEO Nikesh Arora was among Console’s early investors, while Thrive Capital, led by Joshua Kushner, led both of the startup’s funding rounds. Palo Alto plans to integrate Console’s AI agent technology into its Cortex security platform.
