Base, founded and led by CEO Zach Dell, has raised a $200M Series B round to build America’s next-generation power company. The round was led by Addition, a16z, Lightspeed, and Valor, with participation from Thrive, Altimeter, Trust Ventures, and Terrain. Base is developing a distributed energy network to stabilize the power grid and deliver affordable, reliable electricity through home battery installations. Since launching last year, the team has expanded across 70+ Texas municipalities, deployed over 10MWh of storage, and partnered with utilities like Bandera Electric and homebuilders like Lennar. The new capital will fund R&D, factory expansion in Texas, and continued growth.
