Anthropic Raises $3.5 Billion In Series E Round Led By Lightspeed Venture Partners At $61.5 Billion Valuation
Anthropic, the AI startup co-founded in 2021 by CEO Dario Amodei, has raised $3.5 billion in a Series E round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners at a $61.5 billion valuation. The round, which also included Bessemer Venture Partners, Cisco Investments, and others, brings its total funding to $18.2 billion. Anthropic plans to use the funds to develop next-gen AI systems, expand compute capacity, and accelerate global growth. The company recently launched Claude 3.7 Sonnet and is focusing on new tools, subscription tiers, and AI agents to drive revenue while maintaining a strong emphasis on AI safety.
