Andreessen Horowitz Raises $15 Billion To Invest In Tech And AI Startups
Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) has raised more than $15 billion across five new funds, marking its largest fundraising to date as investor demand for tech and AI startups accelerates. The haul includes $6.75 billion for a scale-up fund, $1.7 billion for AI infrastructure, and $1.12 billion for investments tied to national interests such as defense, housing, and supply chain. Co-founder and general partner Ben Horowitz framed the raise within the U.S. race to maintain technological leadership amid competition with China, calling the moment “profound” for innovation. With this raise representing over 18% of all U.S. venture dollars in 2025 and pushing a16z’s assets under management above $90 billion, the firm reinforces its position as a dominant force backing leading technology companies and the ongoing AI boom.
