Pennylane raises $200M Series A+ led by TCV.
Pennylane, based in Paris, has successfully secured $200M in a Series A+ funding round led by TCV. This latest investment brings the total funding to approximately $460M.
Additional investors in this round include Blackstone Growth, Sequoia Capital, and CapitalG. The funds will likely bolster the company's growth initiatives as it continues to advance its accounting solutions.
Pennylane specializes in accounting and financial management software designed for collaboration between firms and their clients. The company has evolved beyond merely digitizing accounting processes to incorporating automation through its AI-driven Autopilot product. This innovation allows AI agents to manage routine tasks, enabling accountants to concentrate on providing advisory services and reviews. Currently, Pennylane serves tens of thousands of accountants and over 1.5 million small and medium businesses, achieving around $250M in annual recurring revenue, an increase from $100M in late 2025.
Operating mainly in France, Pennylane has become essential for small businesses, with an estimated one-third utilizing its platform. The company is also expanding its reach into Germany, with plans to enter the Spanish market next.
Arthur Waller serves as the CEO and founder of Pennylane.
Waller has articulated an ambitious vision for the future, aiming to build a company valued at 500 billion euros. The advent of AI in accounting is notable, particularly given the ongoing shortage of certified public accountants, shifting perceptions about automation's role in the industry.
