Eos-x Space Raises $120M at $1.2B Valuation
EOS-X Space raises $120M Series A+ led by Global Emerging Markets.
EOS-X Space has successfully secured $120M in a Series A+ funding round, which was led by Global Emerging Markets and is based in Spain. This funding elevates the company to a notable valuation of $1.2B as it prepares for the launch of its commercial services.
The funds raised will be allocated towards expanding EOS-X's operations in the United States, enhancing its industrial capacity, and developing technologies for both civil and military applications. This follows prior funding of $140M raised earlier in the year, bringing the total funds for 2026 to $260M.
EOS-X, which stands for Edge Of Space Xperience, specializes in offering unique five-hour flights aboard a helium balloon capsule that ascends to an altitude of approximately 40 kilometers. The capsule is designed to accommodate eight to nine passengers, including the pilot, and each flight is priced around $200,000. This ambitious venture is distinct from competitors such as Blue Origin and Virgin Galactic, as it offers a significantly longer duration in the air.
Since its inception in 2020, EOS-X has seen notable traction in the aerospace sector. The company plans to launch its first commercial flight by the end of 2026, having recently shifted its timeline from earlier expectations. It aims to capture a substantial share of the expanding space tourism market, which has been projected to grow to over $9B.
The company is led by Kemel Kharbachi, who serves as both the founder and CEO. He has a robust background in tourism and has played a pivotal role in advancing EOS-X's vision and operations.
Kharbachi expressed the company's strategic outlook, noting that the revenue potential from ticket sales is just one aspect of their business model as they seek to innovate within the burgeoning aerospace industry. Founded in 2020, EOS-X continues to strive for significant milestones in a competitive market.
