Cactus Raises $7M From Wellington Management
Cactus raises $7M Seed led by Wellington Management.
Cactus, based in San Francisco, has successfully secured $7M in seed funding, led by Wellington Management, with support from additional investors including Y Combinator, Pelion Venture Partners, and Rebel Fund. The company specializes in providing an AI copilot designed specifically for home service businesses.
The funding will be utilized to enhance the platform's expansion and strengthen its go-to-market strategy throughout the U.S. Cactus aims to facilitate automation in an industry still heavily reliant on manual processes.
Cactus develops an AI platform that operates around the clock to assist home service businesses by answering calls, qualifying leads, booking jobs, and conducting follow-ups automatically. This distinct approach allows small business owners to optimize their operations without needing to increase staff. Early users of the platform have noted a doubling in booking rates and a rise in customer satisfaction.
With services spanning HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and contracting, Cactus aims to streamline operational tasks that traditionally burden small teams. By addressing the barriers to customer communication, it enables these businesses to function more like larger enterprises, improving efficiency and capturing more opportunities.
The company was co-founded by Ajith Govind, who serves as CEO, and Avinash Joshi, who holds the role of CTO. Both founders have a background from Y Combinator and are focused on enhancing how service businesses connect with customers.
Erin Smith, co-owner of Blue Best Plumbing, Heating & Air Generators, remarked on the platform's effectiveness, stating, "It's never fun to call a plumber, but hearing how natural and friendly the AI sounds has been amazing. Our customers often don't realize they're not speaking with a real person."
