Rhoda AI, a Palo Alto-based robotics startup, has emerged from 18 months of stealth with a $450 million Series A funding round led by Premji Invest, valuing the company at $1.7 billion. CEO Jagdeep Singh, who previously founded QuantumScape, unveiled the company’s FutureVision system, which trains robots on hundreds of millions of internet videos rather than conventional lab demonstrations, enabling more adaptable, real-world operations. The round also included Khosla Ventures, Temasek, Capricorn Investment Group, Mayfield, and John Doerr, supporting Rhoda’s ambitions to scale autonomous, manipulation-capable robots and eventually license its video-trained intelligence to broader hardware and software platforms.
