Powder Mountain, the largest ski resort in the United States, announced an additional $100 million investment from Reed Hastings, Chairman of Netflix.
The investment makes Mr. Hastings the majority owner of Powder Mountain; Summit (@Summit) founders Jeff Rosenthal (@ReffJosenthal), Elliott Bisnow, Brett Leve (@BLeve) and venture capitalist Greg Mauro will continue on as co-owners.
The investment makes Mr. Hastings the majority owner of Powder Mountain; Summit (@Summit) founders Elliott Bisnow, Jeff Rosenthal (@ReffJosenthal), Brett Leve (@BLeve) and venture capitalist Greg Mauro will continue on as co-owners.
This season, the investment will also bring snowmaking infrastructure to the resort, open 500 acres of additional backcountry access, new cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, a new ski school building, and new night skiing programs.
Powder Mountain leaders say the list of improvements is just the tip of the iceberg, hinting that even more is coming to the resort in the future.
