Mistral AI Secures €3 Billion In Series D Funding Led By Samsung Electronics

Mistral AI has raised €3 billion ($3.5 billion) in a Series D round at a valuation of more than €21 billion, making it the largest private tech funding round in European history. Samsung Electronics led the round alongside EQT’s Scaleup Europe Fund and PSG Equity, with new backing from Advent, BlackRock-managed funds and Luxembourg, while existing investors including Andreessen Horowitz, NVIDIA, General Catalyst, Lightspeed and Salesforce Ventures also participated. Mistral will use the funding to expand computing capacity, advance frontier AI research and grow internationally as it pivots toward a “neocloud” model combining open-weight AI models, dedicated infrastructure and deployment tools.
