Metropolis Technologies Closes $500 Million Series D Led By LionTree With $1.6 Billion Capitalization
Metropolis Technologies, Inc., a Los Angeles–based applied AI company, closed a $1.6 billion capitalization that included a $1.1 billion Term Loan B arranged by JP Morgan Chase Bank, N.A., and a $500 million Series D led by a fund managed by LionTree, with participation from BDT & MSD Partners’ affiliated credit funds, DFJ, Eldridge Industries, Slow Ventures, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Tekne Capital, and Vista. Led by CEO and co-founder Alex Israel, the company plans to expand into new verticals and markets, scaling its AI platform into retail and hospitality. Metropolis’ computer vision–powered platform enables checkout-free payments and personalized experiences, and following its take-private acquisition of SP+, the company now operates the largest parking network in the U.S., spanning 4,200+ locations in 40 countries.
