Bluesky Secures $100 Million In Series B Funding Led By Bain Capital Crypto
Bluesky raised $100 million in a Series B round led by Bain Capital Crypto, with participation from Alumni Ventures, True Ventures, Anthos Capital, Bloomberg Beta, and the Knight Foundation, following its earlier $15 million Series A and $8 million seed round. The announcement comes shortly after CEO Jay Graber transitioned to Chief Innovation Officer, as the company focuses on scaling its team and expanding its open social ecosystem built on the AT protocol, which now supports over a thousand interoperable apps and has grown to more than 43 million global users.

Founded in 2013, Airtable has raised more than $1.4 billion and, while it was valued at over $11 billion during the 2021 market peak, its valuation has since fallen significantly. Bending Spoons said Airtable’s current enterprise value is about $2.25 billion after accounting for its net cash position. The AI-focused company, which develops counter-drone and geospatial intelligence software for government and military customers, recently secured additional backing from Eric Trump, who became its third-largest private investor and will serve as a strategic adviser after the transaction closes. The SPAC merger is expected to generate about $251.7 million in gross proceeds, providing capital to help Space-Eyes scale production, pursue new government contracts, and expand its reach into commercial markets.

Visa Acquires AI Fraud Prevention Company BioCatch For $2.4 BillionVisa announced it will acquire Israeli AI-powered fraud prevention company BioCatch for $2.4 billion in cash, a move aimed at strengthening its defenses against increasingly sophisticated digital fraud. BioCatch, which serves more than 350 banking clients across 21 countries and protects 1.8 billion devices and 760 million users worldwide, uses behavioral and device intelligence to detect fraud in real time by analyzing billions of user interactions each month. Visa said the acquisition will help clients combat account takeovers and scams, which it estimates cost the global economy more than $1 trillion annually. BioCatch CEO Gadi Mazor highlighted the growing importance of real-time customer intent insights in building trust during digital banking sessions. The deal is expected to close by the end of Visa’s fiscal second quarter of 2027, pending regulatory approvals.
